Oslea Run ~ 2026

Oslea Run is a mountain running competition held in the Retezat and Vâlcan mountains, in the Oslea, Paltina, and Piatra Iorgovanului massif area, organized by the Valea Jiului Alpine Club. The event continues the tradition of mountain running in the region, offering four daytime races that highlight spectacular routes amidst nature, at the confluence of the Retezat and Domogled-Valea Cernei National Parks. Participants enjoy an authentic outdoor experience, with prizes, participation kits, and related activities such as tastings and socializing.

Kit pickup is available between 16:00 and 22:00 the day before and between 7:00 and 8:00 on race day. Starts are scheduled at 8:00 for the Scorota route and at 9:00 for the Paltina, Oslea, and Șarba routes. Participants receive a limited edition cap, finisher medal, support points along the route, individual timing, wine tastings, access to camping, and a traditional dinner. Practical first aid courses and photographic exhibitions are also organized. Material prizes are awarded to the top 3 overall male and female positions, as well as for age categories. The race covers 26 km with approximately 2000 meters of elevation gain and is recognized as a landmark event in trail running in Romania. Participation includes access to accommodation zones and information about the race kit.
