Race description
Retezat Mountain Run is a mountain running competition held in the Râușor area, Hunedoara, offering four races with different difficulties and distances, from Easy Run to Marathon. The routes pass through wild and hard-to-access landscapes of Retezat National Park, with support points in spectacular natural areas, including the Bucura glacial lake. The event is organized by a non-profit association dedicated to mountain conservation and involves a team of volunteers and professionals to ensure safety and smooth operation. Participants enjoy an authentic mountain running experience, with cash and object prizes, as well as a friendly and festive atmosphere.

Additional information
Registration and kit distribution take place on Friday between 15:00-23:00 and Saturday between 6:00-9:00 at Apres Ski, the base of the slope. There is a technical briefing and a Pasta Party before the race. Mandatory equipment includes mountain running shoes and windstopper/rain gear. The routes are marked and supervised by volunteers, and runners must manage their own nutrition and hydration between support points. It is recommended to leave the car in the parking lot at the end of the asphalt road, with a 10-minute walk to the race area.
