Zalău Ultra Trail

Zalău Ultra Trail is a mountain running competition held over three days in the heart of the Sălaj Mountains. The event offers a variety of races for all levels, from children to experienced runners, including an ultra race of 103 km with a elevation gain of over 5000 meters. ZUT is more than a competition; it is a platform that brings together athletes, the local community, and nature, promoting the spirit of adventure and respect for the environment. The routes are challenging and spectacular, providing an authentic trail running experience in impressive natural landscapes.

The event takes place over 3 days, with multiple races adapted to different levels of fitness. The Last Man Standing race is a special endurance competition with 6.7 km laps every hour, eliminating participants who do not finish in time. There are prize categories for children and Cross races. Mandatory equipment is specified in the regulations, and refreshment points offer water, isotonic drinks, fruits, and hot food along the ultra route. Multiple race distances, including races for children and charity events; emphasis on promoting local values and community spirit; the event also has an ecological awareness component.
