Rodnei Sky Race

Rodnei Sky Race is a mountain running competition held in the Rodnei Mountains, in the Borșa area of Maramureș. The event offers three distinct courses suited to different experience levels: the Puzdrelor course, the most difficult, for experienced runners; the Gărgălău course, a moderate challenge for well-prepared runners; and the Musceta course, a fast route with a large elevation drop. The race is part of the Carpathians Circuit and focuses on the experience of running in nature amid spectacular mountain scenery. The organizers invite families and mountain sports enthusiasts to enjoy an active weekend outdoors.

The race takes place in Borșa, in the Rodnei Mountains, a mountainous area with spectacular scenery and a tradition of mountain sports. There are several accommodation options near the start, from guesthouses to campsites, between 190 m and 17.6 km from the start. The courses combine marked and unmarked trails, forest roads, and steep slopes, offering an authentic mountain-running experience. The race is part of the Carpathians Mountain Running Circuit. The mountain course requires a mandatory equipment check and starts at the base of the Borșa gondola. GPX downloads and information about accommodation and registration are available. Entry fees include hydration stations, photos, goulash, and parking access.
