Roșia Montană Marathon

Roșia Montană Marathon is a sporting, environmental, and socio-cultural event held in the Apuseni Mountains, in the commune of Roșia Montană, Alba County. The 13th edition, in 2026, celebrates the area’s nature, history, and cultural heritage, offering a variety of routes for runners of all levels. Races include a marathon, half marathon, cross-country race, and children’s race, on courses that combine mountain trails, local roads, and paved sections. Along the way, participants can admire the natural scenery and historic architecture in a setting that promotes a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment.

The event takes place from 19–21 June 2026, with race-kit pickup at Central Square on the day before the race. The programme also includes cultural and social activities, such as creative workshops and concerts. The routes are designed for both mountain and road runners. The event features cultural and environmental activities, community projects, and educational initiatives, offering an opportunity to support the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
