OMU MARATHON by Transilvania 100

OMU Marathon by Transilvania 100 is a challenging mountain race held in the Bucegi Mountains, finishing at the iconic Bran Castle. The main marathon covers 41 km with nearly 3,000 meters of elevation gain, traversing windswept plateaus, dark forests, and ancient trails up to Vf Omu at 2,505 meters. The event also features two shorter races, SCARA Skyrace (24 km, 1,800 m climb) and POARTA Cross (11 km, 420 m climb), all offering breathtaking Transylvanian scenery and professional support from the experienced Transylvania 100 team. The race takes place in early October, promising a memorable late-summer mountain adventure.

Mandatory equipment includes race number with chip, suitable mountain running shoes, fully charged mobile phone, and for OMU Marathon and SCARA Skyrace also headtorch, personal cup, water reservoir (min 1L), backpack with waterproof liner, survival foil bag or blanket, waterproof jacket with hood, warm long-sleeved top, and long legged trousers or leggings. Registration and kit pick-up available the day before and on race morning at Bran Castle and Sports Hall in Bran. Participants benefit from a sports t-shirt if they register by July 15, 2026; the route includes mandatory equipment and specific safety rules.
