Maraton Apuseni ~ 2026

Maraton Apuseni is a landmark mountain running event held in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains, offering a variety of courses for all tastes and experience levels. Participants can choose between the ultramarathon, marathon, half marathon, cross-country race, and a family race, enjoying picturesque landscapes, shaded trails, spectacular ridgelines, and traditional villages. The event celebrates 15 years of tradition and community and is organized by the Romanian Alpine Club, Cluj Branch, with a friendly, festive atmosphere. It is a unique opportunity to run in nature, test your limits, and connect with other mountain running enthusiasts.

Ultramarathon starts at 05:00. Technical briefings for the ultramarathon, marathon, half marathon, and cross-country race take place on race morning. Race kits can be collected in the days before the event and on race day. Related events for families and children take place throughout the day. The Family Race has staggered starts by age category. The event also includes a DJ party after the award ceremony. Participants can choose from several trail running distances, and the event promotes environmental and reforestation initiatives in the Apuseni Mountains.
