2X2 Race

2X2 Race is an extremely technical and challenging mountain ultramarathon, held entirely at over 2000 meters altitude in the Făgăraș Mountains, Romania. The main route of 45 km with a positive elevation gain of 4200 meters passes through Romania's two highest peaks, Moldoveanu and Negoiu. Two other races, X1 Race (26 km, 2400m D+) and X2 Race (18 km, 1900m D+), are also very technical and intense, aimed at experienced mountain runners. Participation is limited and conditioned by experience to ensure the safety of competitors against the high physical and mental effort.

Kit pickup is at Cabana Salvamont Bâlea Lac on August 23 between 18:00-22:00, with an exceptional possibility for pickup on Saturday morning. Participants must present their ID and complete a self-declaration. Race spots cannot be transferred, but the kit can be collected by another designated person. Limited number of participants: 200 for each race. The race is governed by the principle of total self-sufficiency, with no feeding stations along the route (except for feeding points for the 2X2 Race).
